can't 'create' collections file

when i start windows movie maker, i get an error message
saying the collections file is corrupted or damaged,
followed by another error message saying a new collecions
file cannot be created. then windows movie maker shuts
off. how can i fix this?

Move the current collection database files to someplace else on your hard
drive and then start MM2 (or delete the collection database files if you
don't need them).

For the location of the database file, see the Managing.... Collections page
