Then Kevin replied below:
: I just created a static DNS record for a Win NT 4.0
: server. My DNS is Win2k, AD Integrated. I want to create
: a CNAME (alias) for this NT 4.0 box. However, when I try
: to create the alias, I get the following error:
:
: A new record cannot be created. A CNAME record cannot be
: added to this DNS name. The DNS name contains records
: that are incompatible with the CNAME record.
:
: I can't figure it out. I am able to create CNAME records
: for other DNS entries. Thanks.
A CNAME record cannot exist in a zone with a record of any kind of the same
name.
