Hello. I just purchased a maxtor 120 gb external usb
harddrive. When the drive is connected to my laptop, it
works great. When it is connected to my main computer, I
can't copy a file any larger than 200 mb. I get a windows
failed to write error. I have shutdown all start up
programs, such as my A/V scanner, but still cannot copy
anything large to the drive. Both my computers are
running Windows XP home. The machine I want to copy from
is a AMD 1400XP, with 256 Ram. The harddrive is USB 2.0,
and my computer has USB 1.0, so I know the copying process
will be slow, but shouldn't I still be able to copy any
file to my new drive.
