I have a brand new W2K installation on an Intel P4 3Ghz box. I just noticed
that I am unable to copy anything into the startup folder at
C:\DOCS&SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP\ . The screen
flickers briefly when this is attempted, but the files disappear into
oblivion! Any ideas? The same behaviour occurs for any profile on the
machine. I'm thinking maybe security on some reg keys?
Tx all.

Never mind... I got this one. FYI, it had to do with Webroot Spysweeper
software installed on the PC. Think it also blocks some of the functionality
of the user's mouse as well.
