Have XP SP2, IE6, Broadband and use Norton, CounterSpy & Kerio Personal
Firewall. 4 days ago, out of the clear blue, I totally lost ALL ability to
copy & paste. When I copy everything seems ok. When I attempt to paste, I
get the freeze/hang crappola. If I wait long enough, I get the "Windows Must
Close" message or I can do the ctrl+Alt+Del function. The first time it
happened, I rebooted and I could paste for a few hours and then the same old
same old again. I have done complete system scan with Norton and CounterSpy
and come up clean.

I do tons of volunteer work for Vietnam Veterans and it is done on a
shoestring and a prayer and NO budget so I really cannot afford to take my
computer in for repair nor am I able to afford a tech coming to my house. I
need all of the help I can get.

Any suggestions?

Thanks ~Tikiwoowoo~

Being new to this ng I've noticed the number of posts coming from you
and make the following suggestion:
1. do a complete backup of your data
2. reinstall your OS
3. reinstall your data and applications
Having done all that you will find that all or most of your ongoing
problems will have disappeared,

So what happened four days ago? You can try a System Restore to five
days ago and see if that fixes the issue.

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
"Restore my computer to an earlier time"

If for some reason that doesn't work, are you copy/pasting with a
right-click? If yes, then see:

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers -
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

Right click causes an error and crashes Explorer.exe after installing
Windows XP SP2 - http://www.winxptutor.com/sp2/divxcrash.htm

Manage the context-menu entries for folders, drives and Namespace
objects - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/context_folders.htm
