I am trying to connect to my XP home computer c$ share and
cannot. It keeps asking for username and password and when
i type my username and password it doesnt work. Is this an
XP HOme edition issue.

I'm hardly an expert on the subject, but I doubt that
any "NT" type computer (WinNT, Win2k, WinXP, Win2003)
would allow this due to the NT security model.

Best to share subdirectories of c-drive instead of the
entire drive.

Does the share even exist? I though home edition didn't have the default
shares.
