I am running a Linksys router. No firewall, other then NAT
on the router. I am able to connect to the internet, surf,
play, do whatever.

When I do a manual update. It says it can not find an
internet connection. I AM connected though. This is the
only program that cannot access. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I am also running a linksys wireless router, and have
exactly the same problem as you.
Can someone email me a fix for this?

Thanks

Did some checking. Something is wrong on Microsoft's
end. Tracing network traffic just now, when you
select "File/Check for updates ..." it tries to open a
connection to 216.32.240.24 (with no success). Pinging
that address results in failure. Think they'll have to
get that system back up.

Same Problem Here.
Am behind a Modem Router Linksys wag54g.
Firmware 1.02.7 (dont think the router is the pb...but...)

The antispyware try to manually establish connexion:

GIANTAntiSpywareMain.exe:3968 TCP MYPC:3543
216.32.240.24:http SYN_SENT

Last responding Hop:13 199 ms ten2-3.tuk-76c-
1b.ntwk.msn.net [207.46.35.77]

Then (WOW....writing that comment...it went ok..as i
retry to get the exact error message)
The Only think i did between now and last failed test was
to connect on my modem-router via web interface...

Update Ok... (?? !!)

According to me...it can be a ARP cache pb...but am not
expert...

I can't connect for updates either and I am strictly on dial up. Yet I could
connect yesterday. I think it is a problem with MS servers.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I found out that the far end
is having some issues and was advised to try again later.
Thanks again.

There is a problem at the far end. I was advised to try
again later. The update system is offline at the moment it
appears, so I don't think any of us are having problems.

I just connected to the spyware updater and downloaded the new definitions
5680. It seems to be working fine now.
