last nignt i installed windows defendre beta 2 on my daughters laptop after
she had a spyware problem come up it scaned and removed some spyware but now
she has no conection to my broad band network.( my other computer is
conecting just fine.)help please

This is usually caused by disruption to the winsock stack because of removal
of the malware.

With XP and Service Pack 2, the fix is quite simple--go to a command prompt
and type:

netsh winsock reset

and hit enter.

Then restart.

If you don't have Service pack 2, or if you have Windows 2000--use this KB
