Can't connect to device through ActiveSync

I have installed my development environment on a new laptop. However, I
cannot seem to connect to the device through Visual Studio. ActiveSync
(3.7.1) connects fine. I can copy things back and forth. However, even
though I've chosen the right architecture, Visual Studio does not see the
device as connected.

Also, the program won't run in the emulator on the laptop.

Why does every computer I install this stuff on have different problems?

I'm having the same problem here - just installed eVC4.0, then Smartphone SDK, and... VS2003.NET is
unable to deploy an app to my smartphone, saying "Unable to connect to device"... Though i can
connect thru Active Sync very well...
Donno what to do with that...

And what's the most interesing thing is if i choose "Smartphone device" as target, it fails
immediately, but if i choose Pocket PC, it starts deploying, i see a warning on my smartphone, but
then i "ok" it and buhhhh... VS gives an error "Unable to connect".. weird...

Any ideas would be highly appreciated...
Thank you in advance,
Andrey
