Can't complete installation of Saitek p2500 gamepad

When I try to install this gamepad from the CD it hangs at
the "configure" point. Windows recognizes it but it shows
up in the device manager as a generic device, not the name
of the pad. None of the software that comes with it works
because the pad itself doesn't appear by name in the
device mgr. Any suggestions?

Interesting, I have the same problem at the moment. What makes it all
the more annoying is that on a previous install it worked well (albeit
with a different MB, CPU and memory).

I will post here when I find the solution, in the meantime, what is
your OS, and system config?

Did you install the software BEFORE connecting the gamepad to the USB port?
