Can't click on URLs is messages

Windows Mail has been working fine, but this happened within the last week.

When I click on a URL in a message, I get an error message that
"Windows cannot find HTTP://xxxxx.xx Make sure you typed the name correctly,
and then try again"

Vista is fully updated, as is my Trend Micro Security. I've looked in
<options>
but don't see a likely suspect.

Thanks
Jim

You didn't say which browser is your default, so I will assume
Internet Explorer.
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet
Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Note that Trend Micro is one of the top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail, but I don't think it is involved in this particular issue.

Thanks. Actually I had Firefox set as my default, but when
I changed it back to IE, the URLs worked. I turned off the last
FF add-on that I'd updated recently, and made FF my default
again, but have the original problem.

Guess I need to do some FF troubleshooting. Maybe start
uninstalling some add-ons.

There is a separate fix for Firefox:
