When I start a new e-mail, and start to type the body of the e-mail, I will
sometimes need to edit what I've already typed above. If I move the cursor
overtop of the text where the mistake is, and click there so that I can then
backspace or fix the problem, the cursor won't appear there. It's like the
text can no longer be edited. The only way I can get back to fix that text is
to backspace all the way up the paragraph, or use the up and down arrow keys
to move up one line at a time.

I've disabled the Acrobat addon I'm using, but that made no difference.
Current addons that are enabled are: iTunes addon, Exchange Unified
Messaging, Sharepoint, Outlook Mobile, VBA, Outlook Change Notifier, and
Windows Search Indexer.

Anyone have any suggestions? This is annoying! Thanks

Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Tried it with your add-ins disabled already?
