Hi there,
In Microsoft Word 2007, I cannot click on to the text at all or the scroll
bar, the arrow is there but it won't do anything - there is no recognition if
I click on the screen to say highlight text or jsut move in to a different
area of text. I am still able to click on the options bar at the top but just
not within the text. You can imagine how annoying this is in long essays.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Or better still, how to fix this?
Thanks,
Martha

It sounds like you are in Full Screen Reading view. You can click View
Options and Allow Typing if you really want to type in this view. I'd
recommend clicking Close, which should return you to Print Layout View. Print
Layout view is a far more practical view for editing documents.

Full Screen Reading view is most commonly encountered when opening documents
attached to e-mail messages. You'd be well served to save the attachment in
Documents or My Documents, etc. (not in the default temporary folder) and
then open it from there.

To avoid opening in Full Screen Reading view:
Click the Office Button to display the Office menu and click Word Options
to display the Word Options dialog box
Click Popular
Under Top options for working with Word, clear the Open e-mail attachments
in Full Screen reading view check box and click OK

If this were only happening in a single document, I'd guess that document
protection had been turned on (Review tab, Protect group, Protect Document).
Since is is apparently happening for all documents, I'm sorry but I can't
help.

Good luck!
