i am trying to run outlook 2003. the outlook icon appears in the icon
tray after i open the app and remains after the app is closed. this
was not the default behavior, it only started the past two days, i
have no idea what i might have inadvertently selected. i tried the
hide icon, hide inactive icon but that was not satisfactory, it keeps
creeping and covering up more icons than i want it to. anyone able to
tell me how to drill down and eliminate the icon when the app closes,
i don't even need it while the app is running.

tia

It's always there when Outlook is running an therein lies the problem. Did
you make any changes or install anything in the last few days related to
Outlook? Something is keeping it running when you try to close it

u r probably correct, anyway i have found something that makes it
livable. i did the hide inactive thing but the ones i wanted to see
that kept going under, i tagged as "always show". this seems to work
ok for me so far. thanks
