I know how to use word and am quite familiar with changing fonts, colors,
size, etc. But for some reason, everytime I try to make a word doc. it will
not change the font ... the 'default' is some huge text that I can't seem to
change...any suggestions.... Please???

To change the default font: Display the Font dialog box, for example by
pressing Ctrl+D. Choose the desired font and size, and then click the
Default button.

If you are saying that your blank documents have contents in them, see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/...ocnotblank.htm.

For more on setting the defaults, see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...alTemplate.htm.

Note that the article is primarily targeted at Word 97-2003, but the
principles are pretty much the same for Word 2007.

The latter version has a new way to change the default paragraph settings,
though, namely the Set Defaults tab of the Manage Styles dialog box. To
display it: Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to show the Styles pane, and click the
Manage Styles button at the bottom.
