I'm trying to shorten the field length in a table of a text field. The
message says the field is part of a relationship. I have made sure that the
relationship links for this table are deleted and relationships in queries
but continue to get this error. I have tried closing and reopening the db.
What can I do?

Thanks,
Joe M.

What makes you think it's not part of a relationship? If Access says it is, what
have you done to confirm or deny that?

I went into relationships and deleted the relationship link. Did the same
thing in any queries. Whta else can be done or is there someplace else that I
need to do this?

Thanks,
Joe M.

Just making sure. What I was thinking about was relationships that were created
but were not showing in the Relationships window because they have been hidden.

Open the Relationships window and select Show All from the Relationships menu.
Do any additional tables appear and if so, are any of them related to your field?

Well I learned something new. When I went to RELATIONSHIPS > SHOW ALL, more
tables appeared with thinks to this field. I will remove and I'm sure it will
work. Thanks for your help!

No problem and sorry I didn't say that right away. I just wanted to make sure you
knew where the Relationship window was. Would have saved confusion making
sure step 1 was complete before doing step 2.
