Can't change desktop icons for website links (for example the link to yahoo
mail); the icons are the standard webpage icons. I was able to use other
icons until recently. Now I have a group of boring and indistinguishable
icons for my web links. The only new program was an upgrade to Media Center
..
Any ideas would be welcome.

R.click the icon,properties,change icon.Or,open control-panel,folder options,
file types tab,change the icon.

Try this Kelly tweak and the icons might remember their changes.
