Ok, I have this weird issue.

The machine is a WinXp Home, the option "copy to cd" does not even appear,
we can burn music cd's, mp3 cd's, dvd's, but we can make it to burn a simple
picture cd via windows explorer default "write these files to cd", does
anybody have a solution for this??

We use Nero, Winamp, iTunes, Musicmatch, etc, for the other stuff, we just
tried to burn the photos last week, and because it is something so simple
that everybody does without any special program we decided to give it a try,
but it didn't work and we're just wondering why?

Thanks for any help.

Can you not use nero for photos... ???

Also, does it work when you ''right click copy'' pics and then ''right
click paste'' them in the cd you have accessed via 'my computer' ??????

Have you tried...

open the folder containing the pictures, and reduce the size of the
prevailing folder...

Click on my computer, and reduce the size of that also,,,

Highlight all the required pictures, and with the right hand button of
the mouse held down, drag the lot across and drop them in the CD/RW
image... Release and click on 'Copy here'...

Put a CD in the drive and click the baloon near the clock, and, at the
top left, of the open window, click: 'Write these files to CD'...

That's the way I do it...

Maybe "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service" is disable. Check it out by

1. Right-clicking My Computer - choose Manage
2. Goto Services and Applications
3. Expand to Services
4. Here look for the above said service name.
5. See if it is disable or Manual.
6. Double-click on the Service. Set it to "Automatic" and click Start.

See if this helps you. Further, if you are trying to write picture files
through this way then maybe it will won't work with your VCD/DVD Player. CD
will be write as data cd.

Hope this information helps you, let us know.

Hey thx for the help, I'll look at the last posibility (thx RajKohli), I've
tried the other ways and it works with Nero, but the issue is that the
default windows option is disabled and that's bottering me, since we haven't
touched anything on that part or tweaked it in any way, the "copy paste"
didn't work either, sometimes we get an error that says that the cd is not
writable or is full, neither one is true and I'm trying just to pass 2 or 3
pics to c if it works.

So I'll try it tomorrow and hopefully it will be ok!

Thx.

Using Nero: Make data CD. (a balloon will pop up with instructions)
>>>Add >>>drag the photos that you choose to the nero dialog box.
>>>Next >>> Burn.

Do not close the CD because about a hundred pictures is only about
20 to 25 MB. Also don't burn the thumbs.db.
Just insert the CD into any CDROM and a dialog box will appear.
I have never had good luck using the built in CD writer with XP.
so now I just use Nero.

I always use "Nero Express's" - "Video / Pictures" - "Video CD" option to
write a Picture CD and also check mark "Enable VCD Menu" option to make
Picture CD more attractive while playing on my VCD Player with PBC ON
function.

Check it out. Hope this information helps you and let us know.
