cant burn dvd

yes i am not an expert on the computer my ? is i was able to burn dvds with
converttodvd before i got anti virus 2008 recovered computer when i convert
to dvd then go to burn it the tray pops out looked underdevice manager shows
no problems there tried reinstalling cd rom shows unable to run test device
not found any help would be great even remote assistance thanks

By itself, XP cannot write to a DVD. You need third party software. You
need "converttodvd" back.
