Hello

When im trying to boot Windows XP Home Edition the computer restarts as soon
as the Windows XP logo appears.
Ive tried to boot the computer from fail-safe but the problem remains.
Ive tried installed Windows XP four times and the problem still remains.

All these four times a error-message has told me that the computer could'nt
install "system".

I have tried also:

fixboot
fixmbr
chkdsk c: /f in the recovery console

and several other things like copy defualt.bak, sam.bak system.bak from
computer, delete and paste them again from the cd to the system again via
recovery console.

How do I solve it?

You need to post a copy of the Stop Error. You also need to be careful
not to do things that make the problem worse.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

You most likely have a hardware or driver proble. Reinstalling Windows
does not solve this type of problem.

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?

Hello Gerry!

Thanks for your answer but I dont find any automatic restart on
system failure option.
When pressing F8 right before the Windows XP logo appears I come to the
advanced startup options... safe mode, normal and so on.

Can I disable this option in CMOS?

By the way.. Yes, I have tried to start in safe mode but the problem still
remains..

Safe mode
Safe mode with Networking
Safe mode with Command Prompt
Last known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Start Windows Normally

This might be because you don't have SP2 installed (which in and of
itself is a problem; it is important to keep all of your Windows XP
patches up to date!). The other way to disable automatic startup is:

Right-click My Computer | Properties | Advanced | Startup and
Recovery/Settings | Uncheck the box nest to "Automatically restart" | OK
| OK

Then again, if your PC keeps on rebooting, even in Safe Mode, you're in
a Catch 22!

Have you tried selecting Last Known Good Configuration?

If that doesn't work, I wonder if you maybe have the HellzSpy infection.

Malen295 - XP provides for two repair functions -the first is the Recovery
Console which provides for command line repair. For the second repair
option, Boot from the XP CD - by-pass the Recovery Console option - setup
proceeds - it will detect the current XP installation and offer you the
choice of a repair or clean installation - select repair and setup will
continue and perform an upgrade installation.
