| The first thing that you will need will be a Win98 boot floppy. If you have
| had a win98 machine, you may have one laying around. If not, you will have
| to get a friend or a tech to make one for you. Boot with the Win98 boot
| floppy. When it gives you a choice, select with CD-ROM support. If you can't
| get this far, you have a hardware problem. Once the computer has booted, put
| the Win2000 CD into the drive and then change to that drive and run setup.
| Windows will try to do a repair. If that doesn't get you going, you may have
| to do a complete install. If you can't access the drive, that could also be
| a hzrdware problem.
|
Completely pointless as the CD drive is dead.

Examine your Win2k CD on another machine. There is a folder with 4 floppy
images, and a program to create them. Boot the floppies on the other machine,
and choose repair then recovery console.
You should run chkdsk. I am not sure if ntoskrnl is corrupt or some other
file. It is difficult to fix things without a CD.
