This is a new thing in the past week or so and it's really starting to
get on my nerves. I cannot alt tab to open exporer windows. The icons
show up when I hit alt-tab and I can tab to the window I want, but that
window never gets focus. Same problem if I find the window I want in
the list of open windows in the bottom toolbar. I have to manually go
through and minimize all other windows until I find the one I want. Or,
click on the "show desktop" icon then alt tab to the window I want.
Argh!

Any hints would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hay, me too. Search for "focus" in IE6. No answer other than the tweak UI
thing but that doe NOT address this...

Did you try it? It should be the same as the registry fix as documented here:

<title>KB886217 - New program window appears behind all other open
windows on a Windows 2000-based, Windows XP-based, or Windows

BTW notice that TweakUI is mentioned in the article
but unfortunately it has a space in its name there
which means that KB searches for it won't find it.
