I have a machine running Windows XP SP2 that I need more columns of
information in the detailed view. But when I right-click on the column bar,
the only options it has listed is "Name", "Size", "Type", "Date Modified",
"Date Created", and "Attributes". If I click on "More...", I get the same
options but with "Date Accessed" and "Status" in the list.

I cannot get this machine to even give me the option to choose the columns
that I've seen on other XP SP2 machines like "Author", "Owner", "Title", etc.
I've tried going into "View" > "Customize this Folder..." and change the
folder template to video or music or anything just to see if it would make a
difference, but no matter what template I choose, I always have the same list
of columns to choose from. What do I do?

Available Column Settings
Owner, Name, Size, Type, Date Modified, Status, Attributes, Author, Title,
Subject, Category, Pages, Comments, Copyright, Date Created, Date Accessed,
Attributes, Artist, Album Title, Year, Track Number, Genre, Duration, Bit
Rate, Protected, Camera Model, Date Picture Taken, Dimensions, Company,
Description, File Version, Product Name and Product Version

Note: Name, Size, Type and Modified settings are enabled by default.

Not all file formats will support these additional column settings. For
example, a Microsoft Word document can contain Author information, but a
Notepad document cannot.

How to Change Column Settings in Windows Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310297

To change the details displayed, on the View menu, click Choose Details. In
the Choose Details dialog box, click to select or clear the items you want
to view.

To change the order of the columns, in the Choose Details dialog box, click
Move Up or Move Down.

You can also left click and drag columns to any order you want.

You can also right click the column header and select and unselect Details.

You can also right click the column header, scroll down and select More...

TweakUI tip
From the View Menu, select "Choose Details" to select which file properties
should be shown in the Explorer window. To sort by a file property, check
its name in the "Choose Details" in order to make that property available in
the "Arrange Icons by" menu.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

These files are videos that do have extra information. I'm most notably
interested in the "Subject", "Title", and "Category" fields. I know these
files have data, because copies of these files are on another machine, and
there windows explorer will let me select those columns to view, and I can
view all the data associated with those files.
I just need windows explorer to allow me to select "Subject", "Title"
and "Category" columns to view, but the only columns that I can select are
what I mentioned in the first post. What do I do?
