"as the header says" - which says nothing to provide a reasonable context to
understand what you are asking or what you are attempting to do (and is a
poorly constructed sentence in the header, anyway).

So instead of taking the time to compose an unhelpful, snotty reply,
why didnt you just say nothing and let someone who does understand what
I meant reply? What a great way to alienate new visitors with problems.

How dare you provide 'how to post' links you arrogant sneering
buffoon-I will post WHAT I want, WHEN I want and HOW I want. Stuff your
'netiquette', shove your faq's. Get a life.
BTW, I have sorted my problem out, now I get on with my life.
Bye!

Here are three good reasons:

Those of us trying to answer questions read through hundreds of posts a day,
and it's a great waste of time to read posts like the OP's. Or yours, for
that matter. People who post that way are setting themselves up to be
ignored presently and in the future. Since we assume that people asking a
question truly wish for an answer, it is in their best interests to avoid
this fate by learning how make a proper post.

When you consider that those answering questions are volunteering their
time, without any payment for their efforts, and therefor are under no
obligation to answer anyone's question or even to care if they exist, the
wise person maximizes their chances of having their question answered by
learning how to make a proper post and to otherwise learning how to use a
newsgroup.

Finally, considering that no one is charged a penny to have their question
answered, it is a matter of courtesy to make it as easy as possible to to
understand their question.

Fine. Don't be polite when ASKING for help. Don't provide reasonable
details so someone, anyone, can understand you. Don't provide details when
requested and leave your query as vague. Don't participate in the community
and rather rant like puerile infant screaming at their parent rather than an
adult requesting help. That's your choice, just as it our choice to ignore
your posts or tell you why your posts suck and prevent anyone from helping
you. Your choice. Ours, too. Hope you really enjoy all the help that you
deserve and have received so far.
