Hi,

Wrong suspect. Uninstall Norton's, see if the ports are then recognized.

I recently installed sp2 and changed my virus software to Nortons 2006.
One of these actions (I suspect the installation of sp2) has caused my
computer to not recognise anything plugged into a USB port.

I have checked all of the drivers and they are fine. I also uninstalled
all of the drivers and reinstalled them – still no joy.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I don't know if there is, I don't (and won't) use anything from Symantec.
Their AV software is good, but the programs they distribute are also well
known for causing major system issues. I would contact their support for
further assistance.

Personally, I would use something else:
www.kaspersky.com
www.grisoft.com
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/
