I've done something strange to my laptop and I can't work out what's going
on.

I'm using a Linksys WRG54 router/access point. If I connect with a cable,
everything works ok. If I use just wireless, it appears to connect but I
can't get access to the internet. It used to work fine. The only thing I
changed was to upgrade Kerio but I used system restore to remove the
upgrade.

I _can_ still access my local network and copy files between computers (the
other computers are on ethernet).

It seems to be the same with some (but not all) other wireless access
points. I have been able to access one wireless access point since the
trouble started.

On my network, I can ping the router ok but I can't ping the IP address.

If I ping the IP address (found from the status page in the router setup):

Also accessing the router's web pages seems very slow.

Any idea what might be happening or suggestions what I should try next?

just fine. If I try to use the wireless (Intel 2200) I can browse the
LAN but cannot get to the Internet. I have two desktops, one which
connects via a wired connection works just fine, the other, which
connects using an HP WL500 802.11g (Atheros) PCI card also connects
without any issue. All are running Windows XP Pro SP2. Anyone have any
thoughts....?

Yes it's SP2 but I've been running that for a while without problems.

After trying several random things the following finally got it working:

Turn off all encryption.

Turn off 'Use windows to configure my wireless network settings'

Try to connect (failed)

Turn on 'Use windows...'

Try to connect (worked!)

Turn encryption back on.
