scoured my security settings and verified my firewall
(sygate personal firewall) to make sure that it wasn't
blocking anything. and i found nothing. i'm not a total
pro at xp pro so i'm sure it's something small and stupid

I am having this problem with XP home. Have turned off all firewalls. Others
can access my documents folders, but when I add folders to be shared with
security turned off the other computers get the message:\\mwportw98c is not
accessible. not enough memory is available. close some programs. Nothing
is running on either computer. all other computers, w98 and xp home can
access each other fine.

thanks,
