Can't access files after reinstalling Windows 2000

Help! I reinstalled Windows 2000 on a corrupted system, using a new logon
and password. Now I can't access the "My Documents" directory from the old
logon (which no longer exists). I get an "Access Denied" message. All of
the older directories are still available. Am I toast? Or is there
something I can do?

Thanks for any tips.

give the account you want to use administrator privileges temporarily and
take ownership of the files under the old 'my documents' directory to
transfer them to the new user's directory.
