When I attempt to open up my Outlook (office 2003), I receive a message
stating an error has been detected and to access the Inbbox Repair Tool. I
have read several forums for what I should do, but when I finally access the
Inbox Repair Tool, I can not get to the Outlook file to upload for repair b/c
it is located in the Control Panel. Any suggestions?

With Outlook closed, you run scanpste.exe, and browse to the data file to
repair, assuming the repair tool window doesnt open at the default data file
location.
The Control Panel, Mail Applet is merely a 'window' that enables you to
ammend change various settings, and add items.
The usual locations are here;
Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file
a.. By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
For Windows Vista the default is
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
b.. You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename
