My friend had a burn-out of a section of her mother-board. She was
told it was going to be very expensive to repair so she bought a new
computer. She has asked me to transfer her photos from her old hard
drive to the new one but she had a password on her user name in the
old computer. The directory of the old drive that houses the photos
can not be accessed.

Is ther any way I can copy the photos to her new computer? She has
given me the user name and password that she used.

Thanks
John

It's an issue of ownership and permissions. From Start | Help and Support
search on ownership or see this:

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=308421

If it's XP Home you'll need to restart in Safe Mode and login to the built
in Administrator account.
