I installed a network of 10 computers using Windows XP Pro with the service
pack 1 and the latest updates.
Then I used the System preparation tool to deploy the system to other
computers with the help of imaging software.
Well... I can't access the computers on the network.
When I try to browse any computer on the network I get this message
" \\Computer_Name is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource."

The strange thing is that each computer can conect to the internet "I use a
switch connected to a router to provide a direct connection not using
internet connection sharing" but when I try to ping each computer I get
"Request timed out" !!!

I tried this before:
1- Enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP Connection
2- Made sure that the computer browser service is running
3- Made sure that the local security policy allows accesing the computer
from the network.
4- Installed the TCP/IP, Client for Microsoft Networks, File and printer
Sharing

The accounts on all the computers on the network are the same and named
"Admin and User" and borth the 2 accounts have passwords.

Any help is appreciated

Are all computer names unique but Workgroup concurs? Is tcp/ip configured
appropriately to distinguish between hosts? Is firewall appropriately
configured?

If "user1" connects from one specific computer to another, the OS sees only
a SID regardless of whether the name matches an account on the target or
not. Once again, names are for human consumption alone except for DNS name
resolution.

How did you use Sysprep? Why are you asking about a Windows XP issue in a
W2K newsgroup?
