Hi,
I wanted to install the new MMC 3.0 Update on a SBS 2003 server. SBS 2003
SP1 was not yet installed but it's required to complete MMC 3.0 update.
Before installation of SBS 2003 SP1 there was any problem with IE6...

What I have do (I haven't tried to run IE6 after each update/reboot) :
1. Installation of Win2003 Service Pack 1 (KB889101) -> Complete successfully
2. Reboot server
3. Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Service Pack 2 was already installed ->
nothing to update !
4. Installation of Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 -> Complete
successfully
5. Installation of WinXP SP2 for client deployment (KB891193) -> Complete
successfully
6. Update for SBS 2003 (KB884032) -> Complete successfully
7. Reboot server
8. Installation of Windows SBS 2003 Service Pack 1 (KB885918)-> Complete
successfully
9. Reboot server

Now, when IE6 start and try to display the default home page
(http://companyweb/) the window stay blank. I only see the home page adress
on the title bar. If I try to browse another web site like
http://www.microsoft.com, http://www.google.com or http://www.hp.com there is
the same problem...
It's no more possible to display the "Options" dialog box from the "Tools"
menu, but I can run it from control panel !
The Extended view from MMC no more display anything, but the Standard view
is OK.

What I have try to do (Any of this resolved the problem) :
- Install FireFox 1.5 -> No problem, I can browse any web site
- Install Netscape 8.1 -> No problem with FireFox engine, but with IE6
engine I can't browse any site !
- Restore all default settings for IE6, clear all cache and cookies, remove
the "Temporary Internet Files" folder and set the home page to "about:blank".
- Create a new Administrator account called "Test" and connect to it from
the server console (A new profile was generated).
- Run Windows Defender Beta 2, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Hijackthis and McAfee
VirusScan Network 8.0i. -> Not found any serious problem...
- Reboot SBS 2003 in safe mode with network and run IE6 -> Same problem
- Use the SBS safe mode to restart scan with Spybot and Ad-Aware -> Not
found anything...
- Start regedit, go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active
Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}" and change
the "IsInstalled" value from 1 to 0. After reboot, I can't re-install IE6
"The version installed on this system is newer...". The version for my
iExplore.exe file is 6.0.3790.1830.

Any other idea would be apreciated. Thanks.
Diego
