I am working on a website. Through FP directly on the domain. Out of a sudden
I couldn´t connect anymore, right after I asked for mailing functions from
the host. Could not connect through FP anymore. Tried in total 4 different
pc´s, didn´t work out. Asked an other person with FP, and she could enter the
site through FP. Asked the host, and they could enter the site through FP as
well. Can access the website through FTP though.

What settings are changed in my (4) pc´s or at the host that cause me not to
be able to enter the site, while others can?

Forgot to mention: still are able to connect to other sites, hosted by other
companies. So, this is the only site that causes problems. O all 4 pc´s

If you connected suing FTP the extensions are most likely corrupt.
Have your host repair / reset / reinstall the extensions.

They have allready done that, but it doesn't solve it. Apart from that, other
people can enter that website, so the extentions can't be corrput, can they?

OK,

You mentioned "Mailing functions"!!

Is this something your host did to the server, or something you did to
your machines?

Are the 4 machines networked behind a NAT router or DHCP server by
chance, or do they all have their own independent connections.

Is the machine that works, on the same network or a different one.

There's obviously a common factor here!!
Did you change a proxy setting, a browser setting??

FrontPage uses the Internet Settings from Internet Explorer.

I got a message that ´the server was not able to send email´ so the host
changed a setting, and from that moment I could not logon anymore. Two of the
four machines are at my home, one is in my office and the fourth is in the
office of a friend. The one working well is located in again another office.
The one in my office is behind a netscreen firewall, the rest is protected
through programs such as Zone Alarm and various anti spyware programs.

You are right there should be some kind of cmmon factor, but at on at least
two of the fuor machines it did work, and they are at different locations.
That is why I think the problem should be with the host.

Yes, I´ve published from two of the machines before. Everything worked fine,
untill the smtp part was installed by the host. I don´t know which setting
they have changed, I asked them to fix the smtp problem on the site
