Canoscan 4000US SCSI Problem

I have a SIIG AP-40SCSI Pro card which is installed and working fine.
When I connect my Canoscan 4000US SCSI scanner up, turn it on and fire
up the computer it hangs on the XP startup screen. The only way I can
get the machine to boot is by turning off the scanner.

Has anyone any help/advice?
