Hi all! Just installed a new XP in our club and attached subject MPC190 via USB to this system. Everything worked fine. After a week not in the club I returned, switched on and got "error communicating with device". Checked everything, downloaded latest Canon drivers, everything worked fine. After a week I returned to the club ... spare me the story! I tried everything - updated XP, checked BIOS, deleted and reinstalled all USB drivers, contacted Canon and did all they suggested to no avail, I even dragged my Canon S750 from home to this machine. S750 works fine, MPC190 doesn't. Now I took MPC190 home to turn it in for repair and for pure curiosity reasons put it on my machine at home (Win 2000) - and guess what - everything works fine. I can switch on and off the machine, take it away from USB and reconnect, restart Win2000, use a cold or warm machine it just works under Win 2000 and doesn't under Win XP. Is it possible the different mainboards make all the difference?? (ASUS P4T (Win 2000) at home, MSI 845PE (Win XP) at the club) Or is there a big difference between Win 2000 and Win XP??
Any ideas?? I'd be very grateful!
Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Ernst
