Can't seem to get XP to recognize Canon S20 camera. Have
downloaded Canon drivers (so says set-up). Any ideas on
what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

Are you plugging it in directly to the computer or through a USB hub? I
recommend you bypass the hub if you are using one.

The S20 is an older camera (released in 2000). I believe Canon uses a serial
over USB connector cable, so you may be fooled into thinking you are getting
USB quality.

I'd recommend you get a card reader for the compact flash media. Even today
with modern cameras - its still easier to just use a card reader, and
they're cheap too.

good luck!
