I'm in a simular situation, choosing scanner for work (LIDE 80 or
8000F). The recommended price at Canons swedish distributer is the
same for these two scanners. I'm confused because LIDE 80 has a better
version of the system for eliminating dust (FARE level 2), 8000F only
has a more simple version of the same system.
The main difference I would think would be how the color is rendered.
I have been reading everything I could get hold of from Canon but
nowhere in there material I can tell that there would be any advantage
of the light tube reader over the diod reader. So why are the charging
a higher price? To me it seems like the LIDE system is ahead of the
others. Canon keeps the other scanners in
there assortment only to sell out their stock.
I also like LIDE 80 more since it has a more compact design.
