Canon Pixma iP2000 colour problem .... ( HEEEELLP please ??)

I bought a Canon Pixma iP2000 printer a couple of months ago.

It's worked soundly until a couple of days ago. It will only
print, now, in green/blue. I've tried changing the colour
cartridges ... to no avail. I've also followed the (very poor)
online trouble-shooting guide ..... " holding the resume button ....
etc ... to clean the nozzle heads .. etc.. ).

Still the printer will ONLY print in green/blue. Other colours do
not show, at all.

Any help / advice GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance !!!!

Two months? That means it is still under warranty. Take it back and let
Canon worry about it.

DID YOU ALWAYS USE CANON INK. OTHERWISE THEY CAN CLAIM THAT THE INK YOU
USED RUINED THE PRINTER AND CAUSED THE PROBLEM.

Not sure if this info may also help but I have been using alternative ink
brands in my Canon S520 printer for a couple of years now and recently the
black ink stopped. Cartridge was 1/2 full. I took printer into ink cartridge
shop and they fixed it free and said that the printer had got an air block.
Which is i understand it the gap between the ink cartridge and the Heads.

may be that will help you

cheers ken

Although I haven't seen that terminology used for Canon printers, I
understand that the filter in the ink outlet at the bottom of the cart has
to be in contact with the intake portion of the print head for that cart.
It is possible, while manipulating the cart when refilling, to displace the
inside sponge material and the outlet filter upward. Then, the cart won't
feed. I'd be surprised, however, if the cart would print until half empty
and then quit for this reason. If it had been refilled several times it
could get some dried ink in the sponge, filter, and the channels that pass
ink from the reservoir to the sponge area. I would guess that you could
also get some dried ink or tape residue blocking the airvent . Air blocks
can occur in Epson printers if the cart is run dry.

Sounds like a blocked printhead to me. Most compatible cartridges are NOT
designed with the newer style printhead with finer nozzels. We've had no end
of problems with the ip 1500 and 2000 with the comp cart's.

I'm a Canon re-seller and i can recomend their return to base system its not
too awfull, leave the genuine ones in it and ring them up and say you've
done loads of head cleans and it still doesnt work - usually they just post
you a print head!

Have you done the cleaning cycles through the software on the PC?

Regs,

D

first those are canons worst printers but i do agree that there is no
such thing as a compatible cart. compatible is just an overused word to
try to get customers to buy stuff that is not disclosed by the seller.
anyway the best inexpensive printer $80.00 is the canon IP4200. the
faster model ip5200 is about $110 when on sale.
