I have a quite new Canon Lide 60 scanner. It worked fine on my old computer
but I had to have the computer re-built and now I get a "can't communicate
with scanner" error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver ... talked
to Canon tech support ... and tried to install it on a friend's computer but
I still get the same message. Please help!

Is it a USB scanner or Parallel?

Is Cannon Lide 60 the correct model number?

If parallel then is bi-directional support enabled? If USB, is Human
Interface Device process running? Are there any yellow exclamation marks in
Device manager? If so, which? You said you had a machine rebuilt. Was that a
new motherboard? If so, has the person loaded on the chipset drivers? Is the
scanner picked up when you plug it in?

All these types of questions need answering before we can help
