My uncle has a CANON 9829A001AA IMAGECLASS D880 LASER MULTIFUNCTION printer
in his office that is acting a little weird and I'm wondering if anyone has
experienced this?

He has two computers networked together and a third computer with a Canon
Laser printer, the third computer is connected to the printer VIA a printer
cable and one of the networked computers is connected VIA USB. The computer
that is connected with a parallel printer cable works find but when printing
from either of the two computers through USB the printer will print 1-4
pages and then give an error message as if the USB cable has been unplugged.
The only way to continue printing is to unplug the printer and then restart
the print, BUT each time it will only print 1-4 pages.

IDEA's, since the one computer is the accounting computer they would prefer
to not add it to the network but if that's what has to be down they will do
it.

I don't know why he is experiencing this problem? But if the computer that
is connected via LPT works fine, why not just use that share to print from
all the rest of the computers and just avoid the one using USB?

The problem is that the computer connected to the printer VIA Printer cable
is not on the network, because it houses the accounting information. The
other computers are on the network. Do you think this might be a problem
with having a USB and Parallel cable plugged in at the same time?

I tried to unplug the Parallel Printer cable and just have the USB cable
plugged in, it printer 10 of 14 pages and then gave the same error message.
Any chance that I need to get newer USB cords?

I think the ones I have are USB 1.0 compliant not 2.0?

Having two computers attached to the same printer sounds like a
nightmare lashup. Pick one connection or the other to provide the data
connection to the printer.

I had the same problem with my USB printer. Worked for 2 years and then
started printing a paragraph in one color, page feed, new page 1 paragraph
in a different color, etc. Tried everything. Finally solved the problem by
disconnecting my printer from the USB hub and plugging it directly into a
USB port on my computer. Guess it was getting confused. If the USB printer
is on a hub try plugging it directly into a computer USB port.

The computer is connected directly to the USB port, there is not a hub
in-between. I think I may need to add the accounting computer to the
network.
