I posted here a few months ago with the problem that my Imageclass
8180c was giving error messages on almost all carts at once. Since
then, I have bought all new cartridges as no one here had any idea
what the problem could be and Canon said to replace the cartridges,
especially as the black one was preventing the printer from working at
all
Problem is that with the new cartridges, in black,the cartridge
printed OK for a few weeks and then the printer wouldn't print
anything on the right two thirds of the page at all. It does
occasionally print the whole page and in colour it does seem to print
the whole page as well so I cant identify anything consistent with
this printer?? Meanwhile Canon is now telling me that the drum is the
problem and to get a new drum.
Is there something on the drum which might let the printer print in
colour but only the left third of the page in black?
