Canon i960 prints too contrasty

The prints I'm getting from the Canon i960 seem to have too much "snap",
i.e, they are overly contrasty. I've tried to modify contrst via
Photoshop 7, but isn't there a way to tweak the printer's preference
applet to adjust contrast?

The only options I've found include

red - cyan
magenta - green
yellow - blue
black
intensity
