Any suggestions would be very welcome...
We purchased a Canon i850s in the US last year- we are now in France.
During the move we have managed to loose the proof of purchase, so
though the printer is in the 1year warranty period we cannot prove
it....
So the problems:
1/ In essence it seems as though it is impossible to align the print
head..I have followed the maintenance/setup..which does give the
expected patterns, though it seems that the range of choice is not
sufficient. The second page of the alignment adjustment shows each
choice exactly the same..with a obvious step. After the alignement
(the best choices I can make), when I print a test page (thick
horizontal/vertical lines in each colour) all the vertical lines have
steps continusly through the page. (the horizontal lines are ok)
2/ There seems to be a faint line running vertically down the page
where there is no ink laid down for the colours..and the same (but in
a different location) for the black ink.
3/ When I print black text there is a vertical band throughout the
page where the text is almost double printed, but out of sync..like a
very bad blur.
I have run the clean head maintenance, more than once, and the
deep-clean also. I also have removed the print head and manually
cleaned everything.
So, am I stuffed? Any suggestions? Is it even Canon repairable?
Thanks, I appreciate anybodys input.
