Hello all,
I know that recently third party cartridges for Canon (CLI-8 / PGI-5)
*with chip* have been put on the market, however they cost double
compared to the chipless ones.

Chipless ones would be fine for me if they had two plastic prongs where
the chip can be inserted, so that it stays there WITHOUT using the glue!

I know such cartridges "with prongs" exist, for example look at this:

the instructions mention that the cartridge has prongs and the glue is
not strictly necessary.

However the cartridges of the link above are so expensive that they cost
like chipped ones.

Do you know a cheaper source with cartridges with prongs?
Preferably in the EU but not strictly necessary

People who want print quality do not care because they buy only Canon
OEM and I have NEVER heard of a problem. It is only those who want to
buy crap for a cheap price and get what they paid for have problems.

As Truman said if it gets too hot stay out of the kitchen.

Well like I said if you find the cdrap too expensive than buy Canon OEM.

Costco, Staples, Frys, Office Depot all sell Canon.

At the bottom of the page you can see an orange clip that mounts the chip
permanently in the printhead.
These holders (5 pcs.) are relatively expensive, but the cartridges are
cheap. 25 cartridges of my own choice for my Pixma 5200R costs around 65
Euro.
(1Euro ~ 7.5 DKK.)
I have used it for some months now and it works fine. In fact the printer
doesn't detect when you change a cartridge so it doesn't start the usual
nagging.
