I'm presuming you are on a budget. Although these scanners are
capable of scanning slides and negatives they are inferior to a
dedicated film and slide scanner.
I am familiar with Epson and I own a 3200. Epson makes quality
products.
The Canon comes with FARE Level 1. This allows the scanner to remove
dust and scratches from film using an IR light source. This is a
remarkable process but very time consuming.
You may want to consider shopping on EBAY for a dedicated film
scanner. I purchased a Minolta Elite with Digital Ice (used) for
$175. It does a great job. I see that you can get a Benq with
Digital Ice (new) for $339 plus shipping.
