Canon BJC-4100 No printing

Hello, I come here to seek advice Canon is bad at. Good equipment
they make bad help. Now I have had this printer for a few years now
working great. The past 6 months I have had no printer, im not a big
printer user but when you need one you need one, right . I went 6
months ago and purchased a Ink Cartarage (that holds the B&W & Colour
tanks). Brought it home after 3 days of use approx no black prints.
I went and bought new B&W ink. Still same problem, so I phone canon
they say it's the Ink cartarage, alright I just spent $80CDN to buy
one I'll go one last time and buy another one. Same problem,
unfortunatly the place only has a return policy of (twice) And even if
I could return again and again, after 2 bad ink cartarages it's
discouraging. So no printer I don't know what to do, I dought the
printer is dead, yet I could be wrong. What could I do to make sure
it still works without spending $80 again which Im not gonna do.
