I'm having the same problem as previously posted. Installed the software
provided by Canon Version 30.0 Digital Solution Disk "Zoom Browser EX 5.8",
PhotoStitch 3.1, EOS Utility 1.1. It also indicates Twain Driver 6.7. The
desktop is an EMachine with Windows XP.

The computer was re-started and I connected the camera using the USB cable
provided. The computer identified Canon Digital Camera in Device Driver but
states the driver is not installed for this device. I tried updating it and
it still failed with the same error message. The error message was "Cyclic
Redundancy Check". I understand there is no driver for this camera.

I am running Windows XP Home Version with a Wireless Connection for the
Cable connection. The camera does get accepted and added to two notebook
computers I own with Windows XP also on them.

Any suggestions to solve the problem.?

Cyclic Redundancy Check or CRC, is a method used to protect communications
links or data storage. The significance of the error message, depends on its
context (did it happen during driver install ? did it happen after driver
install, but at the instant the USB device was plugged in for the first time ?).

For best results, test using a USB port on the back of the computer, in
the I/O connector area. Don't use the front ports, because sometimes
their signal qualities are suspect.

Use this program, to see if the enumeration information from the camera
is visible. Not a lot of info is exchanged, to display the enumeration,
so this in fact does not guarantee the hardware connection is error free.
But it does allow you to see what the camera is declaring.

Also, when posting information describing your problem, it helps to
copy the error message "exactly", all words and numbers included. That
makes it easier to find incidents with matching symptoms.

How many other USB devices do you own ? Are other USB devices having
problems ? Any other weirdness you've noticed while using USB ?
