cannot write to cd

I can read from cds but cannot copy files or even create a new folder on cd.
When I try, I then cannot get out of explorer window - system seems to
freeze. Have to re-start pc to get rid of explorer window.

Hi ... Do you have a cd writer ? Also what program are you using to write
with ?
