Hi All,

We run Outlook 2003 SP1. Problem has come up and can't seem to find the fix
online.

Email from (E-Mail Removed) comes in to a user. If they have the reading pane
open, the email will display, but when you double click the email, nothing
happens. If there any attachment, clicking on them in the reading pane or a
right click, will not show the attachment

If the reading pane is off for that email addy, and you click on it, it will
say "unable to open" with a "permission denied" message.

If you open Outlook in Safe Mode, you can open the messages fine.
Interesting point is that it will prompt you saying the "sender is requesting
a read receipt". I have receipts turned OFF. Not sure why it would be asking
for this when the setting is set to be off.

I restarted Trend Micro on that server (We use terminal services). That did
not fix the issue.

The other issue is those emails will not allow you to forward them either.

Thanks for any help!

Rich L

What's the format? Have you tried changing the default format in Outlook? Try
plain text.

Also, is AV actively scanning incoming/outgoing email?
