Hello and thanks in advance
I want to know why my or some computers cannot show a drawing (ACAD) in the
detail window when the mouse highlights the file. I have one comp that does
show the drawing but my comp and a couple others cannot. Any sites or advice
be helpful.

This sounds like a problem with or setting change in AutoCAD, or whatever
program you're opening ACAD files with, rather than with XP. Have you tried
the maker's website / help file / tech support? Or just bring up Tools >
Options (or whatever) for the program on the "good" PC and on one of the
"bad" ones and trawl through all settings one by one, comparing.

Hello Olorin,
I compared settings to the copm that shows the drawings to my comp.
Everything looked the same, so I think it's something in winxp. Thank for
your input.

OK - I'd still say that approaching the maker of your unnamed program would
be the best bet in the first instance. XP doesn't natively support autocad
files, so you must have some third-party application installed (in which is
this "detail window", I'm assuming). While the advice may well result in you
having to tweak XP in some way, IMO the info needs to come from the
manufacturer.
